There are a boatload of things to do to keep the whole family occupied during a Summer in Frederick County Md! From sports to swimming and camps for the children, to park activities, both organized and free-style. Outdoor Theater and Music Festivals, Frederick Wine Trail events and Alive @ Five in Frederick, there are many festivals and events all summer long.
Frederick was right at the crossroads of it, near to several major Civil War battlefields. Visit the Civil War Medicine Museum in downtown Frederick, or Monocacy Battlefield. Rose Hill Manor Park & Museums provides visitors with the opportunity to explore life in 18th & 19th century America. The Schifferstadt house is the oldest in Frederick, Maryland, dating to 1756. The Historical Society of Frederick has many events throughout the year. Trained docents lead visitors on a journey through Frederick County’s past. With historical artifacts, works of art, photographs and other materials from the past, visitors experience the county’s rich history and meet interesting characters from the past.
