I Made It Myself!

How about this idea… you can get all the enjoyment from a craft… but none of the mess.  At I Made This! Pottery Studio in Everedy Square, you can paint your own pottery one day, then pick up the finished item in one week.

Historic District Frederick BusinessesI Made This! Pottery Studio is located at 10-B N. East Street, right next to the free parking lot at Everedy Square and Shab Row.  The studio has hundreds of items to choose from, for all ages, and all the glazes and colors you need.  You can look through idea books, or get ideas from the many sample pieces on display.  You can use brushes, stencils, sea sponges or shape sponges… the choices are endless and the creativity flows.  The staff is very helpful and full of ideas and tips.

I Made This! Studio has a separate party room for children’s birthday parties, corporate parties, clubs, girl scout troops, etc.  A minimum of 8 painters is neccessary to reserve the room.  Tax-exempt groups get a 25% discount off pottery.  See the I Made This! website for details.

Every Thursday night is Ladies Night, from 5-10 pm, with a 20% discount off pottery.  You can bring your own favorite beverage and munchies… can anyone say “Wine and Cheese, please!”  One Thursday night a month from 7 to 11 pm is Ya-Ya Night, like ladies night, but bigger!  (Ladies must be 18 years and older). Call for details 301-624-4030.

So how much does it cost? Pottery pieces range from $8 to $30, Plus your studio fee for materials and firing, which is 1/2 the price of your pottery.

What a great way to make a special gift from the heart for a loved one, or commemorate a special event.  Or like me, make at item for my home in just the right color.  And they have gift certificates.
After you’ve painted your piece, it’s dipped in the glaze for an overall clear finish.  Then its fired in the kiln.  You can pick it up the next week, (except for busy holiday times).

See the website for hours of operation.

Anyone want to join me for ladies night?

Enjoy,

Karen
