Historic District First Saturday is Mayfest
In Historic Downtown Frederick the First Saturday Gallery Walk falls on May 7th, Mayfest will be a celebration of spring. Over 40 downtown merchants will be handing out single flowers and shoppers can collect a bouquet by the end of their journey. Finishing ribbons and wrap are available for $3 at En Mass Florist, 141 N. Market.
Children will enjoy activities like decorating a planter and sidewalk chalk at the Greene Turtle; decorating a bandana with the Humane Society; creating a birdfeeder at Subway and butterflies at BB&T. There will be a pottery demonstration and craft at Everedy Square & Shab Row.
Live Music will be enjoyed throughout the day and throughout the downtown area all day with 10 musical groups. WFMD and WFRE will be set up in front of Brewer’s Alley with giveaways.
Car Buffs will enjoy the Antique Car Show at Everedy Square and the Camaro Car show along Patrick Street.
Art Exhibits will be opening at several downtown Galleries. “A Year on Market,” a collection by local photographer Bill Adkins will be on display along Market Street.
Shopping the specials from local merchants is always the highlight of First Saturdays.
