The Humane Society of Washington County is about to have their 11th annual Polar Bear Plunge, at Greenbrier State Park in Boonsboro, Md. Mark your calendar for Saturday ,Jan. 18, 2014. The event starts at noon and lasts until 1 pm.
The Polar Bear Plunge is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Washington County Humane Society. The Humane Society cares for over 5700 animals a year, provide education programs, and offer spay and neutering. The event raised $11,000 in 2013!
The event draws as many as 400, so if you plan on attending, you’ll be in large company! Many wear fun costumes and interesting headgear to make the event even more memorable.
