Unity Campaign Starts Today!

Highlights of a Successful Local Frederick Charity

Advocates for Homeless Families is working together with 19 other nonprofit organizations in the Unity Campaign from September 23 to October 4th. The poor and needy will receive 100% of your contribution and benefit from matching grants.Advocates for Homeless families

Advocates for Homeless Families is focused on moving families with children from homelessness to permanent homes supported by jobs, paying enough money to pay the monthly bills. Their success rate is something to be admired…over 95% of their clients succeed.

To succeed, clients must be committed to changing their lives. Advocates for Homeless Families requires a contractual commitment that demands work on the part of the client, making this is a hand up, not a hand out. At the same time, additional schooling provides increased job readiness, ranging from certification to a two year degree.

In addition, clients are trained to budget their money, cut down on expenses and learn to live within their means. For instance, AHF has a home garden that helps provide fresh vegetables. Little things make a big difference. Several practical services allow clients pay off their debts and commit to staying out of debt.
