Zoo-La-La is Back for Another Year!
Zoo-La-La is an event that combines models parading the latest must-have clothes from local stores and boutiques along with encounters with some of the animals from the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. Add the music, food and fun and it will be a night everyone will be talking about as we support the non-profit preserve and zoo located on U.S. 15 near Thurmont.
Zoo-La-La will be held:
- 7 to 10 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 15,
- at The Faux School in downtown Frederick.
- Plus, there will be a meet and greet with some of the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo animals from 6 to 7 p.m.
- General Admission: $45 per person
- Animal Meet and Greet: $20 per child (5 to 15 years old)
For the party animals, there will be a DJ, beer, wine and a signature Zoo-La-La cocktail, with a raffle of various prizes ranging from a NYC Fashion Week experience, Kenya Bush Safari, and even a Bloomingdales $1,000 shopping spree with a personal shopper. The food will be excellent; it’s from Juliet’s Italian Market and Cafe.
What a great way to support local businesses and the local zoo with one great, fun event! Who doesn’t love our fur friends at Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo?! And who doesn’t love fashion? Well, at least we all love to wear clothes.
Kirstin Garriss, who is working on the second annual fundraiser, tells me that last year, the first ever Zoo-La-La event raised $7,000 for the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. This money paid for extra power generators and propane fuel that kept the zoo’s delicate creatures warm during this past winter. (and we all remember what a cold winter it was.)
This year, these fashionistas hope to double that success and help expand zoo displays, creating an even better home for the animals at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. It sounds like a great event for all ages and all the family members.
Tickets will be available on the Catoctin Zoo website.
