Frederick Md Summertime Activities

Summertime in Frederick is filled with many opportunities for amusement.  Here are just a few ideas for you:

Alive @ 5 :

Alive at 5 is held the second and fourth Thursday of each month  at the Carroll Creek Park Amphitheatre. Enjoy great live music each night, with food and beer and wine from local merchants, (Must be 21+ to enter) for a $5 cover charge.  Ongoing from May to September, 5 to 8 pm.

Downtown Frederick

Dogs on leashes are welcome if they are well-behaved.  Season passes are now available.  Call or visit the Downtown Partnership, or these stores:  Ananda Shala Yoga & Pilates Studio, 34 S. Market St., Ec’clectibles, 13 E. Patrick St., Viniferous, 227 N. Market St., Flying Barrell, 103 S. Market St. or the Visitor Center, 19 E. Church St.

First Saturday

Frederick has the distinction of being named a “Great American Main Street” by the National Historic Trust for Preservation.  One of the ways to celebrate is First Saturday.  All year long on the first Saturday of the month, stores are open late, live music is heard on several corners, and themed activities take place all over the Historic District.

Summer Concerts in Baker Park

On Sunday nights in Baker Park enjoy free concerts in the Bandshell.  Throughout June, July and August you’ll hear a variety of musicians at The Summer Concert Series.

Summerfest Family Theater

Families can enjoy clowns, magicians, puppets and all kinds of other fun entertainment at Baker Park during Summerfest Family Theater.  Thursday mornings at 10:30 at the Baker Park Bandshell.
